This week’s Kidlit Distancing Social is one many of you have requested: a sit-down with one of the most experienced publishing attorneys in the industry, to answer your questions about copyright, negotiating contracts and other key legal issues impacting writers.
Mary Flower is a lawyer who has worked in the publishing industry in various capacities for more than thirty years, the last twenty-five of which have been spent working with children’s book writers and illustrators helping them negotiate and understand their publishing agreements. On the publisher’s side she has served as the contracts director at Scholastic and is currently the contracts manager for Grove/Atlantic.
Mary can be reached via email at flower.mary28@gmail.com and via LinkedIn and the SCBWI website.
